After-School

You must register for after school programs prior to the start of the program. Day of registrations will be taken only when cleared by the Park and Rec. Department. Your child must be put into the "SSES dismissal manager" system as a Parks & Recreation dismissal. Staples will not send your child to a Park and Recreation Program without being in the dismissal management system.

Peak Performance Sports Camps

Peak Performance Sports Camps are back to offer Floor Hockey and Indoor Soccer. Come ring in the new year with Peak Performance Sports Camps for fast paced action through our Floor Hockey and Indoor Soccer Class! Love hockey but don’t know how to skate? No problem, come to our class and play hockey on the gym floor. Love Soccer but it is too cold outside? Come down the gym where it is warm enough to play all winter. We will have mini tournaments and play tons of lead up games for both soccer and floor hockey. Even if you have never played either sport we will show you how to play. Only requirement is that you come prepared to sweat and have some fun!

Trifitness Running Club

The after school Trifitness Running Club gives younger athletes an entry into the popular, fun and healthy sport of running. Led by Pascale Butcher, All American Triathlete and owner of Trifitness of Fairfield, children will learn proper stretching, running, pacing and cool down techniques as they run and have FUN! Graduates will have the opportunity to participate in a real road race with their new running buddies if they wish.

Grades: K-5 Fee: $75, 6 weeks

Martial Arts/Karate

This returning program will help your children develop many skills, such as discipline, focus and concentration. It’s proven that children who practice martial arts do better at school, home, and are more physically fit. The program will include karate, tae kwon do, aikido, ju-jitsu, and other various systems of self defense. The course will also include bully busting and stranger danger. Students will also have the opportunity to achieve certain belts throughout the program. This will be a continuous program throughout the entire school year and students will test for belt advancement throughout the program*. Instructor: Assembly of the Martial Arts Academy.

*Please note there is an additional fee for belt tests.

In this 7 week class, students will be introduced to theater games, concentration exercises, basic voice and speech, improvisational exercises, creative movement, imagination play, sense work and basic stage skills. The workshop will focus on developing each child’s creativity and self-confidence, while inspiring your imagination in a supportive environment. Returning students are welcome at this class. Animation Moviemaker

Clay and animation,what a perfect combination! Working in teams, students do it all, from story creation to making the characters with clay and building the sets. As they learn the production process they will use DIGITAL CAMERA and COMPUTER SOFTWARE to animate,record, download, assemble and edit their own movies.

Lego Fungineering

Young budding engineers love this "hands-on, minds-on" program. Concepts of simple machines are introduced through a series of activity-card LEGO building projects. With the use of motor and electrical controls, the models come alive right before their eyes!

Berlitz Language Classes

The Berlitz Method, which is an interactive technique, is a communicative approach that focuses on real proficiency, yet our programs for children incorporate age-appropriate activities in the target language to promote learning language in context. Native-fluent instructors allow students the opportunity to learn authentic pronunciation and gain a broader perspective in cultural awareness. This program is 8 weeks and is offered in SPANISH or MANDARIN. Please indicate language selection on form. Minimum enrollment per class is 8.
